"The Emmaland Association was founded to remember Emma and not to dissipate her precious legacy of courage, determination, love, joy and willingness to party. The goal is to try to lighten the lives of children and parents facing the difficult journey of recovery from pediatric oncohematological diseases. Our motto is: courage comes from a smile. Meeting Silvio Irilli and his creation "Painted Hospitals" for us represents the perfect synthesis. We experienced firsthand how important it is to be in a comfortable, colorful, lively, child-friendly environment that also helps parents. For this reason, after the pediatric emergency room of the S.ma Trinità Hospital in Borgomanero beautified last Christmas, thanks to Silvio's work, we decided to give a new face also to the pediatric oncohematology department of the Maggiore Hospital in Novara. A place that on several occasions has been supportive of Emma's therapy. Specifically, the walls of the waiting room, corridors and day hospital room will be painted We are excited and absolutely confident that this project will be of great help to all those who will, despite themselves, have to spend time there. We are confident that Silvio and Painted Hospitals will bring more than one smile to life through their work."

“This is an intervention that allows us to improve the care of our young patients. Most importantly, it confirms the fact that alone we can do a lot, but together we can do a lot more.”
Dr. Gianfranco Zulian
General Director of the Maggiore della Carità Hospital, Novara
“It is with immense joy that we inaugurate the new furniture in the playroom of the children afferent to our oncohematology outpatient clinic donated by the associations Emmaland and Gabri Little Hero together with the patronage of Ugi Novara. As the director of the Pediatrics facility of the AOU of Novara, together with Drs. Miriam Gatto and Sandra Esposito, referents of the pediatric oncohematology outpatient clinic of this facility and who daily take care of our little heroes, I sincerely thank all the people who support us in our profession aimed at curing pathology and improving the quality of life of children and their families even during their stay in the hospital.”

"It has been a great privilege for me to find myself, for the second year in a row, bringing Emma's message to children struggling with illness through the HOSPITALS DIPINTS® project. I like to think that Emma continues to be there and that, in order to get closer to the children, she has chosen to speak their language by transforming herself into a creature made of color, a smile, hope, a very sweet “cartoon” who lives in a special Garden that welcomes and brings a little joy here as well, in the playroom of the oncohematology ward. I thank the Emmaland Association who once again wanted to make me part of Emma's magic, I thank the entire Pediatric Oncohematology Department of the Maggiore della Carità Hospital in Novara who enthusiastically welcomed this project, and I thank all those who made it possible. In fact, so many supporters, among whom I remember Mariagiulia Bertucci and Marco Secchi, the Out Of Place travelers who dedicated their Panda trip between Milan and the Lofoten Islands in Norway to raise funds for "Emma's Garden," as did the Lilliput Children's Center in Volpiano (TO), which showed a strong closeness between the children of their kindergarten and their less fortunate peers in the hospital: tenacity, empathy and generosity, winning ingredients like Emma's message."
