With \u201cA Dive into the Blue,\u201d MRI becomes a fairy-tale aquarium<\/b><\/p>

Painted Hospitals<\/strong> transformsMedea Scientific Institute<\/strong> ‘s neuroradiology into a fantasy world. <\/i>Seabeds with dolphins, turtles, corals, colorful walls that make pediatric neuroradiology a child-friendly environment.It is titled \u201cA Dive into the Blue\u201d<\/strong> the work created by Silvio Irilli – founding artist of Painted Hospitals<\/b> – inaugurated on January 27 at the Eugenio Medea Scientific Institute – La Nostra Famiglia in Bosisio Parini (Lc): thanks to donations from Smurfit Westrock Foundation, Eva Maria Association and of ILGA – Italian Ladies Golf Association<\/strong>, the walls of the rooms dedicated to MRI have been transformed into a fairy-tale world, where rays of light filtering into the sea convey excitement, positivity, calm, strength and a sense of wonder. Young patients and their families will thus be able to approach the MRI examination as if it were a journey to an enchanted world aboard a submarine.<\/b> This is an important part of that path of humanization of care that also passes through the beauty of spaces, in line with the Association’s mission: to be on the side of the child, always and in everything.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\"\"Every year nearly 600 children refer to our service, they are children with complex diseases, such as infantile cerebral palsy, severe prematurity damage, rare genetic diseases, head trauma, brain tumors, dyslexia, psychomotor retardation and autism. Well, for all of them we wanted to make the examination less problematic or even pleasant, and for that we turned to Painted Hospitals. \u201cThe feeling is that of many windows overlooking the seabed , an aspect I wanted to enhance concerns the exam room, where children are prepared before the MRI. When they are lying on the bed, while preparing for the exam or waking up from anesthesia, they will be able to admire dolphins and turtles on the ceiling and surrounding walls, new friends who will accompany and encourage them on an immersive and engaging journey. \nTo have witnessed a child's MRI and to see him walk out of the room with a smile on his face and his mom taking pictures with the dolphins was a very touching moment.
