LIFE IN A SMILE
A special work for the new neonatal intensive care unit

Treviso, June 14, 2024 – The new spaces at the Citadel of Health that will soon be occupied by Treviso’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit have become beautiful. Colorful little fish splashing merrily in the seabed along with dolphins and turtles will soon watch over the tiniest of little patients, thanks to the art of Silvio Irilli of “Painted Hospitals.”
The work was donated to the Treviso department by Arte Danza di Fontanelle, directed by Katya Modolo, who after her personal experience wanted to help the NICU through the “Life in a Smile” competition, raising funds by involving other dance associations as well.
The laying ended with a visit from the general manager, Francesco Benazzi, and NICU director, Dr. Paola Lago, who were able to appreciate timeless works that, in such a delicate department, will give emotions by creating a less aseptic environment for those going through a not easy time in life.
Many thanks to Katya and all who contributed!

“This medical garrison that I carry in my heart saved my son's life, what I remember were the gray walls, today these rays of light may illuminate the path and flank the parents who will face this journey together with extraordinary doctors. We are happy to have laid a plaque to remind everyone of what we have been able to do with the will and contributions of so many people, and for me it is an extraordinary thing. Thank you to Silvio who brought light, color, true and shareable emotions and thank you to Dr. Lago who allowed us to bring this tribute inside their magnificent department”

Thanks to Silvio, Katya and all those who have collaborated”
