BEFORE and AFTER

INAUGURATION - STATEMENTS

“We are Claudia and Michele, parents of Emma who passed away, in 2018, at just 4 1/2 years old due to a particularly aggressive leukemia. Emmaland was born in 2019 at the behest of us and her closest relatives with the intention of spreading the strength, tenacity and all the teachings that our daughter gave us during her illness. We raise funds to be donated to the realities of accompanying families forced to face the difficult path to recovery from oncohematological diseases. The spirit of our initiatives has always been driven by the joy of life, daIla beauty of sharing, and everything that can bring a smile to life. After meeting Painted Hospitals, our goals took a new shape. We experienced firsthand how much a hospital environment that conveys positive feelings and makes patients feel at home can affect the mood of children and parents. That's why we consider it a fortune to have met Silvio lrilli and his creations, and we are sure that this will be just the first in a series of wonderful projects, starting in the pediatric emergency room of the SS Trinità hospital in the city of Borgomanero, a place that welcomed Emma at the beginning of her journey. The art of Painted Hospitals and the graphics of Emmaland will come together in a wonderful, colorful garden that will tell a story full of love, courage and hope.”

"For a child, entering the hospital and especially the emergency room environment is a traumatic and stressful event, especially if it occurs in the cold and aseptic environment typical of most hospital environments, which are incapable of capturing the child's attention and stimulating his imagination. Therefore, creating, through the decoration of environments, a child-friendly place of care capable of diverting, with images and emotions, his attention from what is happening around him, not only reduces his feeling of fear but also contributes to reducing the state of anxiety of the parents while also allowing a more serene action on the part of health workers. It is with this in mind that the Emmaland Charitable Association decided to initiate, in collaboration with Silvio Irilli, a well-known artist in Italy and around the world and founder of Painted Hospitals, the “Emma's Garden” project. The project involves the creation of a painting extended to all the walls and part of the ceiling of the pediatric ER room that will give children the feeling of being not in a hospital but immersed in an Enchanted Garden capable of alleviating discomfort and pain by capturing their attention through reassuring colors and images. Humanization of the diagnostic-care pathway has always been at the center of the mission of the s.c. Pediatrics-Neonatology of Borgomanero and that is why we gladly support the proposal of the Emmaland Association in memory of little Emma who, like a very brief meteor crossed our department leaving with her smile an indelible memory in all the operators who knew her. I sincerely thank the Association, Emma's parents and all those who, through their generosity, will make the project possible. "

“When I get to know people like Claudia and Michele, I realize that death in its totality does not exist. One can experience a tragedy such as the loss of one's 4-year-old daughter by falling into depression or think that there is another life. For Emma's parents was to found the Emmaland association trying to bring life with Emma's message to be close to other children and families. A very touching and exciting fundraising campaign begins today. I am convinced that there will be many of you who will want to stand by Claudia and Michele with a DONATION. I am sure that we will form a great team that will take us to the finish line, your signature will be the most important and will allow us to paint” Emma's Garden “for the Borgomanero emergency room outpatient clinic. It will be a beautiful Christmas gift for the department, with a scenario where characters will encourage the little patients and every time we manage to make a child smile in that smile there will also be Emma's”
