LA ROCHE-POSAY & THE ASSOCIATION OBM ets INAUGURATE THE NEW “AQUARIUM ROOM” AT THE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
VITTORE BUZZI OF MILAN, WITH THE ARTISTIC WORK OF SILVIO IRILLI, FOUNDER OF HOSPITALS PAINTINGS

Milan, June 24, 2024La Roche-Posay – the skincare brand partner of dermatologists and pediatricians around the world, committed for years to improving the quality of life of people, especially the youngest – together with theOBM ETS Association inaugurates the new “Aquarium” Room in the Pediatric Emergency Room of the Vittore Buzzi Children’s Hospital in Milan. This project was made possible thanks to the intervention of artist Silvio Irilli, founder of HOSPITALS DIPINTS.

As in previous editions, children were the protagonists of the campaign, and from November 1 to 30, 2023, they were invited to make a drawing themed “the marine world.” Among the many received, Team La Roche-Posay chose a beautiful drawing of a little girl depicting marine animals, which was integrated by artist Silvio Irilli into the work Sala “Aquarium.” The waiting room of the Pediatric Emergency Room at the Buzzi Hospital in Milan was thus transformed into a magical seabed, where mermaids, turtles, fish and dolphins are the new traveling companions of young patients.

This year the project was developed in collaboration with Associazione OBM ETS, an association established with the aim of standing by the women, children and families who come to Buzzi Hospital

"Contact with the hospital environment generally represents a critical moment for the child: it is contact with a world far away and different from his own, in which he sees potential and undefined dangers. They are fears that are often unmotivated but very real for him, so it is important to reassure the child by creating around him a bit of his world, in which he can take refuge and feel reassured. This is what La Roche-Posay has done with the creation of the beautiful Aquarium Room: images and colors that evoke the most poetic fairy tales, a small fantasy realm in which the child can lose himself by extricating himself from his anxieties during the wait for the doctor's visit. A fascinating and useful work at the same time, for which the Buzzi Hospital and the OBM ets Association are truly grateful to La Roche-Posay and Silvio Irilli, who conceived and implemented it."

"La Roche-Posay's mission is to improve people's quality of life. First and foremost, offering effective, innovative and dermatologically tested products that can solve skin-related problems. Secondly, thanks to a series of social and educational projects, including this one aimed at refurbishing the halls of the main pediatric hospitals in Italy thanks to the power of drawing, which is a tool that can transform a simple hall in a Hospital into a fantastic and imaginary world, stimulating children to create their own story by immersing themselves with imagination in their surroundings and enabling them to face the difficult time they are living through with the power of a smile!"

L'ISOLA DEL TESORO

“Wow, it looks like an Aquarium, it doesn't look like a hospital!” These were the children's first sentences when they watched us at work setting up the waiting room in the Pediatric Emergency Room. It is an exciting collaboration with La Roche-Posay, which, together with the OBM Association, is bringing the Painted Hospitals project to the Buzzi Hospital in Milan for the first time. It will be the colors of the sea with the smiles of dolphins, for a timeless, engaging, immersive interpretation that will give children emotions every day, where they will meet “Captain Dolphin,” who with Little Mermaid Sofia and many characters from Painted Hospitals will become the new friends to encourage young patients before the medical examination. In the artwork, there is also the beautiful drawing of the little girl who won the "Who Donates A Drawing, Donates A Treasure" contest, another beautiful message from children for children...to keep dreaming."
